Intercity Bus Service

The North Carolina Department of Transportation funds intercity bus service statewide, including two routes that depart from Asheville. The service is operated by Greyhound seven days a week, 365 days a year. Buses are ADA accessible and have restroom facilities.
The Asheville routes pick up and drop off curbside outside of the ART Transit Station on Ashland Avenue, providing ideal connectivity to local routes or walkability to downtown locations.
Routes can also connect easily out-of-state destinations on the national intercity bus network, including Richmond and Norfolk Virginia; Washington, D.C.; New York; Atlanta; and Greenville, South Carolina.
Visit the NCDOT webpage for all routes and details, including the link to purchase tickets.
