Friday, May 15

Roll Outta Work (National Bike to Work Day!) 🚲

Gather at 5pm at Bears Smokehouse (135 Coxe Ave). Roll out at 5:30pm.
5.6 mile ride (see route here). The ride will finish at Pack Square Park during Downtown After 5. Free bike parking/bike valet offered by Asheville on Bikes.


Saturday, May 16

Smart Cycling Class 🚲

10am-5pm at The Collider (1 Haywood St, 4th floor)
Want to feel more confident riding your bike around Asheville? Whether you’re new to city cycling or looking to sharpen your skills, our Smart Cycling class–brought to you partnership with the League of American Bicyclists–will teach you how to ride safely, predictably, and with ease on urban streets. Sunday, May 17

Bike Polo Newbie Night 🚲

5pm-9pm at the Malvern Hills Park tennis courts (75 Rumbough Place).
No experience or equipment necessary. Show up and make new friends while learning a fun gender-inclusive team sport! Hosted by Asheville Bike Polo.


Monday, May 18

Free Transit Day 🚌

ART buses are free to ride all day.
Check out the maps and schedules. ART buses (normally $1 per ride) can take you all over the City of Asheville, including to the Asheville Airport, A-B Tech, UNCA, and more! The buses also transfer to Mountain Mobility Trailblazer routes (Buncombe County transit – which are free to ride all year) and Apple Country Public Transit (the Henderson County bus service, also fare free).

Group Bus Ride, Shiloh to Daddy Mac’s 🚌

Meet at Shiloh Rd. & Brooklyn Rd, 11:20am.
Return to Shiloh at 2:15pm. Hosted by AARP, Mountain True, and ART.


Tuesday, May 19

Trivia Night Group Bus Ride 🚌🧠💡🍻

Meet at 6pm at The Wyre Apartments (146 Roberts St, outside their shared ride waiting lounge)
Ride the bus to Hi-Wire Brewing South Slope for trivia night! Trivia is 7pm-9pm. Return to The Wyre at 9:30pm. MountainTrue will provide free bus passes and HiWire will provide the first beer free for up to 15 participants (RSVP required). After meeting at 6pm, the group will hop on the W6 to ride to the closest stop to HiWire. If you haven’t ridden ART buses before, MountainTrue will provide an overview of the system including how to get bus passes, how to use the app to check the schedules, and how to get on and off the bus. Once at HiWire, participants will get drinks and set up team(s) to crush the competition in trivia before heading back to The Wyre after trivia ends at 9pm. It promises to be a good time so RSVP early to snag your spot! Hosted by Mountain True, AARP, and ART.


Wednesday, May 20

Ride of Silence 🚲

Gather at 6:30pm at Pack Square Park (80 Court Plaza). Ride at 7pm.
5.2 mile ride (see route here). This international event promotes sharing the road with cyclists and honors those injured or killed in traffic collisions. Participants are asked to wear white, follow all road rules, and ride silently. A brief meeting to explain the event’s significance and honor loved ones will be held at 6:30 PM before the ride. RSVP and waiver required, sign up at Asheville on Bikes.

Fix-A-Flat Clinic 🚲🔧

6pm at the Asheville Recyclery (271 Haywood St.)
Learn how to repair and maintain your bicycle. One of your bike’s most common boo-boos is a flat tire. Learn how to patch a tube and get that bike rolling again in no time! Hosted by the Asheville Recyclery.
