Commute Friendly WNC Application

This application is intended for businesses, workplaces, government offices, nonprofits, colleges, and universities. Clubs and individuals are not eligible to apply.

Not all checkboxes below will be relevant to all organizations.

Which tier an organization is assigned (bronze, silver, or gold) will be determined in large part by the application below, so it is best to gather the answers internally and ask questions before you submit. If you have any questions about the application, please reach out to sandy@landofsky.org

Don’t have time to fill out the application? Let’s schedule a 30-minute call and we’ll fill it out over the phone together.

A few of the checkboxes below have an * beside them. Those are common questions, the definitions of which are found at the bottom of the page, below the application “submit” button.

Definitions

*High Quality Bike Rack: In general, a high quality bike rack is mounted to the ground, supports the bike upright at two points along a horizontal plane, and does not require the user to lift their bike up in order to lock to it. For a deeper dive on bicycle parking best practices, please see this guide from the Association of Pedestrian & Bicycle Professionals.

**Emergency Ride Home Program: These programs can look different at different organizations, but generally it is a way to guarantee that your employees or students who choose multimodal transportation will not be stranded if something goes wrong or an emergency arises. It often looks like reimbursement for using Uber or Lyft a few times per year.

***Share the Ride NC: Share the Ride NC is a statewide ride-matching program that makes it easier to find other people to carpool with, whether for a daily commute or a one-time trip.

****Commuter Club: an club for your employees, students, or customers, (organized internally), to encourage multimodal transportation through a variety of programs and incentives. If you would like to consult about how to start a commuter club at your workplace or campus, please reach out to Go Mountain.
