Feeling overwhelmed by learning the local transit system? Don’t worry, Go Mountain Commuting is here to help! We offer three different options to teach you everything you need to know to hop on the bus with confidence. This program is only available to those in Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Madison, or Transylvania Counties.

For groups
Bus Ride-Along: this can be planned for a workplace, campus, community group, apartment complex, neighborhood association, etc. We can meet at your location, or meet downtown, and ride the bus together to a nearby amenity, while explaining details of the bus schedules, tips, and resources.
For individuals
Bus Buddy: A Go Mountain staff member or a community volunteer will meet you at your local bus stop and ride with you to your destination, to increase your familiarity and comfort with your route. It doesn’t matter whether that’s to your workplace, school, pharmacy, doctor’s office, library, etc, we want to make sure you feel at ease. This is a one-time per person offering, not a continuing assistance program.
- If you’re a confident transit rider and you’d like to volunteer to be a bus buddy, let us know!
Trip Planning: We’ll help you figure out the bus route and schedule to your destination, and share that info with you in a detailed write-up. No in-person meeting necessary!
